PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer capable of linearly controlling an opening for pressure of a fluid and suppressing an abrupt increase in attenuating force in a high-speed region.SOLUTION: A buffer comprises: a cylinder in which a fluid is charged; a piston fitted slidably in the cylinder; a piston rod connected to the piston and extended out of the cylinder; and a valve mechanism controlling a flow of a fluid generated in the cylinder, and the valve mechanism comprises: a first flow passage in which the fluid flows; a valve seat arranged adjoining the first flow passage and made larger in diameter than the first flow passage; a second flow passage linked to the first flow passage and formed inside the valve seat; a valve body sitting on or leaving the valve seat so as to open and close a fluid from the first flow passage to the second flow passage; and energizing means of energizing the valve body in a direction in which the valve body is seated on the back seat from behind and is energized, a seating part seated on the valve seat of the valve body being on the side of the second flow passage about the border between the first flow rate and second flow rate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
