Abstract:
To solve the problem that since a conventional shock absorbing member used for a base-isolated building has a steel plate embedded only in one side of a compressing direction and deformation constraint for suppressing deformation at compressive deformation time is not available on the other side in the compressing direction, it is difficult to enhance compressive rigidity on the other side of the shock absorbing member in the compressing direction.SOLUTION: There is provided a cushioning body 10 that comprises a cushioning body part 11, and that further comprises a pair of rigid plates 12, 12 united with both end faces of the cushioning body part 11 to hold the cushioning body part 11 from both sides, a hole part 13 being provided which extends from a surface of at least one rigid plates 12 between the pair of rigid plates 12, 12 into the cushioning body part 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
