PURPOSE: To make possible the welding of long stroke and to miniaturize the head, in build-up welding of internal wall of T-type vertical pipe, etc., by making externally adjustable the elevating stroke, longitudinal position and lateral position of the welding head.
CONSTITUTION: The welding head 10 is inserted into the T-type pipe 1 to be welded; and the center of the vertical pipe 2 including a part 4 to be built up is let coincide with the center of the head 10 by the lateral position adjuster 30 and the longitudinal position adjuster 33. Welding is carried out by the arc length controller 12 and the weaving device 13. Lift of the TIG torch 11 is first carried out by driving the motor 28, and afterwards by driving the motor 38 for lifting the torch 11 through the only vertically movable internal cylinder 14 and the driving screw rod 18; hereby, the welding is proceeded. The torch 11 is returned back to the starting point and then is turned by only the weaving amplitude by the turning device 20, and the welding is similarly performed. Thus the welding is finished after carrying out the welding for one turn along the internal wall of the vertical pipe 2.
