The building management system is provided with a center-side controller 1 installed at a monitoring control base, the center-side controller 1 includes center instruments 11 to 14 such as a main controller which performs the overall management of the entire system and a man-machine controller which performs the input/output of building management information according to a manager's operation, the respective center instruments 11 to 14 are connected with a lamp line 8 via a lamp line modem 9 which modulates and demodulates transmission information and the respective center instruments 11 to 14 mutually perform communications via the lamp line 8 and the lamp line modem 9.
