PURPOSE: To effectively prevent occurrence of eddy exciting by a method wherein vortex-shunting plates are provided to locations near the corners of a building so that the plates are turnable outwardly from the sides of the building main body, and eddies along the sides of the building are prevented from occurring as wind flows are disturbed by the vortex-shunting plates.
CONSTITUTION: Vortex-shunting plates 2A, 2A and 2B, 2B are provided to locations near the corners 1b and 1b of a building main body 1c of a building 1. The vortex-shunting plates 2A and 2B are so constructed that the plates are hinged on pivots 2b and 2b and are turnable outwardly from the sides 1a' and 1a' of the building main body 1c by operation of oil-hydraulic actuators 3 and 3 or the like. The vortexshunting plates 2A and 2B are made to extend outwardly, depending on conditions of wind 5, to control eddies occurring along the sides 1a' of the building main body 1c, and thereby eddy exciting is effectively prevented from occurring.
