PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily recognize correspondence to an actual building by deciding the display mode according to the height information of the building, and displaying a building shape map on a display means.
SOLUTION: In a navigation device of building shape map display, information concerning route guide is input/output by an input/output device 1, and information concerning the present position of an own vehicle is detected by a present position detecting device 2. Further, an information memory device 3 memorizes navigation data necessary for computation of the route and display guide data or the like necessary for guide, route search process necessary for guide or display guide process necessary for route guide is performed by a central processing device 4, and the whole system is controlled. The data information of a building shape map containing the height information of every building is stored in the information memory device 3, the central processing device 4 decides the display mode of a building according to the height information, and the building shape map is displayed on the display 12 of the input/ output device 1 through an image processor 45.
