Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase vibration control property of a damper by reducing the ratio of the amount of absorption of earthquake energy shared by a rigid frame.
SOLUTION: In a building structure of rigid frame having columns 1 and beams 2 formed of wide-flange shape steels, an opening 4 is provided in panel portions 3a or 3b formed of wide-flange shape steel webs at the cross parts of the columns 1 and beams 2, and all or a part of the opening 4 is closed by a member having an effective cross-section to a shearing deformation smaller than an effective cross-section to a web shearing cross-section and a strength equal to or larger than a web strength. Thus, rigidity can be reduced while assuring the strength of the rigid frame so as to reduce the ratio of the amount of earthquake energy shared by the rigid frame.
