To provide a building using natural light enabling a light guide duct simple in structure, manufacturable at low cost, and easily maintainable to be efficiently provided to an intermediate portion by improving the arrangement of a living space and capable of efficiently use natural light and saving energy by emitting light from the light guide duct in four directions.
In this building 10 using natural light, a high floor living section 12 and a low floor living section 13 are arranged adjacently to each other at the height difference of a half layer amount, and the floor section 12a of the high floor living section 12 and the floor section 13a of the low floor living section 13 have respective light guide lateral ducts 14 of a half layer amount in height in a space formed at the portion where the sides of these floor sections adjacent to each other are vertically stacked on each other. A light reflective member is attached to the inner peripheral surface of the light guide lateral duct 14. The lateral duct guides the natural light taken from a lighting opening 16 therein in the lateral direction, and emits the natural light to the peripheral living spaces through the lighting openings 15 formed in the four peripheral surfaces of the light guide lateral duct 14.
