Abstract:
PURPOSE: To restrain vibration induced into a building by wind.
CONSTITUTION: A vibration restraining device is composed of a building body 1 and a tank 2 provided at a predetermined position in the building body 1 and pooling therein liquid 3 having a depth with which the liquid vibrates at a cycle period equal to the inherent vibration cycle period of the building body. The tank 2 has a space above the surface of the liquid in a stationary state so as to allow the liquid 3 to move into the space. With the provision of a plurality of such tanks 2, it is possible to enhance the freedom of design for vibration restraining tanks.
