Title:
BUILDUP WELDING FOR ROLL RECEIVING HIGH THERMAL LOAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62207578
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To extend the roll service life by performing a rough finishing with the primary welding of the metal having wear resistance, etc. on the shell part surface of a roll, then by performing secondary welding in succession by leaving the gap of nonweld on the whole periphery of the high stress loading zone of the shell part.

CONSTITUTION: The whole face buildup welding 4 is performed of the metal having a heat resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance and formed in rough finishing dimension on the surface of the base metal 3 of a roll shell part 1. The continuous secondary welding of the service deposit metal 8 leaving a nonweld gap 7 is performed on the whole periphery of the high stress loading zone of the shell part 1 and subjected to a cutting upto the finishing dimension. The deposit metal 8 is formed so as to reduce its heat resistant fatigue performance, so the crack generated on the roll surface relieves the thermal stress at the part thereof and can prevent its development to the roll shell part 1. Consequently the roll life can be extended.
