PURPOSE: To use a manuscript holder in a compact form by a method wherein the manuscript holder made of transparent resin sheets with openings at one or more ends thereof is provided with a releasable fixing member at a position where it can hold the manuscript holder in a rolled state.

CONSTITUTION: As fixing members, area fasteners 2, 3 are mounted on the lower part of an upper film 1(1) of a manuscript holder 1 opened at its three ends and on the upper part of a lower film 1(2). In the use of the holder, after a manuscript is inserted between the upper and lower films 1(1) and 1(2) of the manuscript holder 1, the holder 1 is rolled, and the area fasteners 2, 3 are contact bonded. In this manner, the holder 1 is securely rolled into a cylindrical form. This cylindrical holder 1 is placed, for example, in front of the lower part of a display of a personal computer, a word processor, or the like. An operator inputs data as occasionally shifting the cylindrical holder 1 by hand so that an input part of the manuscript faces the operator. In this manner, an input part can be easily identified, and an inputting operability can be enhanced.
