PURPOSE: To facilitate the coincidence of the bottom part of a caliber and mating faces at the time of regrinding a roll by forming a clearance in the mating part between two rings in the roll of a style in which plural rings are used and the bottom part of the caliber is divided into two.
CONSTITUTION: The built-up rolling roll for shapes is constituted by inserting the plural rings 2a, 2b, 2c on an arbor 1. A V-shaped caliber is formed with two rings 2a, 2b, 2c and the clearance 6 of ≤0.5mm is provided in the mating part between the respective rings 2a, 2b, 2c. Regrinding is executed basing on the clearance 6 as a reference, so the bottom part of the caliber and the mating face are made to coincide at the time of regrinding. Even when the top part in the caliber bottom and the mating face are out of coincidence, since there is the clearance 6, a projection is not generated between the bottom part of the one side of the caliber and the mating face, so defects due to separation of the projection are not generated.
