Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the flux maintaining rate by providing a plasma shielding board between the opening and stem glass of a curved inner tube to be contained in an outer tube encapsulated with rare gas and mercury.
CONSTITUTION: Curved inner tubes 2, 3 having openings 4, 5 and electrodes 6, 7 are contained in an outer tube 1 together with rare gas and mercury. A plasma shielding board 11 is provided between said openings 4, 5 and stem glass 9 and applied with phosphor material. In such a manner, mercury ion in discharge plasma 8 is blocked from flying to the glass 9 thus to prevent coloring of glass 9. Consequently a bulb type fluorescent lamp having excellent flux maintaining rate can be obtained.
