A globe 14 is partially covered by coating an opaque hood 11 on a semispherical top part 14c of the globe 14. By changing area of a coated part of the globe 14 through change of the size of the hood 11, brightness of a lamp 10 can be adjusted. Directionality of an LED light source 15 can be reduced by using a hood formed of a translucent plastic material. White light of the lamp 10 can be partially changed into chromatic light by using a hood formed of a translucent and colored plastic material.
