PURPOSE: To obtain a knitted or woven fabric which has variation-rich surface, naturally bulky touch and gives bulky touch, even when the yarn is strongly twisted by using at least two different kinds of filaments to develop more than 10% yarn length difference in yarn length and randomly arranging their high bulky parts (A) where closed loops are mixed, the intermediately bulky parts (B) having slacken yarns and/or open loops and the low bulky parts (C) containing interlaced parts in which the difference in the yarn length between the yarns constituting the parts (A) and (B) is larger than in the part (C).
CONSTITUTION: A core yarn 1 and a sheath yarn 5 of polyester multifilament yarns are doubled, subjected to synchronous draw-false twisting (9, 10) and treated with fluid flow (12). When the core yarn and the sheath are doubled, a yarn guide 8 is kept at a certain angle in a range to the position 8' and a yarn guide 4 is used to allow the sheath yarn to double with the core yarn. The doubling angle α of the sheath yarn to the core yarn is preferably in a range from 15° to 105°. In the treatment of the yarn with the fluid (12), high- pressure air is used to interlaces and mix filaments and give loops to the filaments.
