Abstract:
To provide a bulky paper obtained under good operation conditions without using a bulking agent and a bulking filler.
The paper is composed mainly of a cellulose fiber, produced by a papermaking process without adding a bulking agent and a bulking filler in a paper stock for papermaking use, carrying out a dehydration treatment in a pressing step in the papermaking process with a shoe press under a nipping linear pressure of 200-1,400 kN/m and keeping the nipping pressure after a smoothing process always at 50 kN/m, and has properties (1) and (2): (1) the density is 0.55-0.75 g/cm3 and (2) Oken type smoothness is 10 sec measured according to JAPAN TAPPI Paper and Pulp Test Methods No.5-2:2000.
