To provide a device for bundling shells for a laver culture and a method thereof, capable of performing the bundling of the shells used for the culture of the laver used as a material of a sheet-shaped dried laver, with a light work in a good working efficiency.

This device for bundling the shells for laver culture is provided by installing a shell receiving body 14 on a table 11 and a pin 23 formed with a hooking part 24 for a thread 2 at the upper direction of the receiving body 14 in a vertical posture, and threading the thread 2 drawn out from a spool 17 into a threading body 15 in the receiving body 14. The pin 23 can be moved up and down by stepping the stepping plate 35, and also moved up and down while rotating by the effect of a groove 26 of a tubing body 21 having a center at its shaft axis. By placing a shell on the receiving body 14 and lowering the pin 23, the pin 23 penetrates through the center of the shell, and then by elevating the pin 23, the thread 2 is hooked by the hooking part 24 and drawn from a hole bored in the shell and the bundling of the shells is performed.
