PURPOSE: To provide a sludge collecting mechanism suitable for scraping a ceiling of a lower tank by including an endless chain loop in the lower tank, a buoyant member held by the chain loop and an elastic member for scraping the ceiling as a mechanism for scraping the ceiling of the lower tank.
CONSTITUTION: This buoyant ceiling wiper for stacked tank type purifying device is provided with the endless chain loop driven in the lower tank, the buoyant member 94 extending in the transverse direction and the elastic member 96 for scraping the ceiling extending in the transverse direction as the mechanism for scraping the ceiling of the lower tank. The buoyant member 94 is freely revolvably attached to a prescribed pair of vane adaptors 54 which constitutes the components of the endless chain loop and is fixed with a collecting vane 52, coming close to the rear surface 52B of the collecting vane 52. The elastic member 96 for scraping the ceiling is attached to the each buoyant member 94 so as to be movable together with the buoyant member 94 to the vane adaptor 54. Then, the buoyancy of the respective buoyant members 94 energizes the elastic member 96 for scraping the ceiling attached to the buoyant member with respect to the ceiling of the lower tank.
