Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a burner for a reformer having a simple structure and enabling the removal of the conventional defects, the perfect combustion of a liquid fuel in a homogeneous and stable manner and the efficient heating of a modifier.
CONSTITUTION: This burner is composed of a easing 1 for the main body covering a burner apparatus A, a burner body 3 having a built-in heater 2, a flame- forming tube 4 placed in the burner body 3, a heat-conduction member 5 attached directly on the upper side of the burner body 3 and a unreacted gas jacket 7 placed at the upper part of the main body 1. The burner body 3 is heated with the heat developed by the heater 2 itself and the liquid fuel is gasified and burned. Subsequently, the combustion heat obtained here is returned to the burner body and the gasification and burning are continued thereafter. Further, when endothermic reaction exceeds, the thermal energy obtained by the combustion of the unreacted gas is returned through the heat-conduction member 5 and assists the combustion of the liquid fuel.
