PURPOSE: To completely purify an exhaust gas by providing an exhaust straightening cylinder having air introduction openings on a burning cylinder and setting a catalyser carrier upward of the straightening cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: Air introduction openings 10 are provided on the circumferential wall of an exhaust straightening cylinder 9 on a burning cylinder 2. A cylindrical exhaust gas purification catalyser 12 is held on a honeycomb ceramic plate having many communicating holes 11 through a frame 13 in a box 3 whose upper edge is put into contact with a top board 6. In addition, a quenching cylinder 14 made of metal is provided through the catalyser 12 and a space. When an exhaust gas ascends in the exhaust straightening cylinder 9, air is led from the air introduction holes 10, the total quantity of the exhaust gas is put in the purification catalyser 12 from the lower opening in order to push exhaust flow sideward and passes the communicating holes 11 to purify so as to exhaust. If a flame should extend, the flame is quenched in the quenching cylinder 14 before the edge of the flame reaches the circumferential wall of the catalyser 12. Furthermore, the heat reduced toward the burning cylinder 2 from the catalyser 12 is reduced remarkably. Thereby, purification action is completed to prevent thermal adverse effect for the burning cylinder.
