Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate a burn-up of a spent fuel assembly by correcting a positional shift in measurement to provide a precise burn-up data. SOLUTION: This burn-up evaluating method has a neutron measuring step for arranging a neutron detector group 5 having the first and second neutron detectors 3, 4 fixed each other in the vicinity of the fuel assembly 2 to measure a neutron counting rate, a ratio calculating step for finding a ratio of the obtained neutron counting rates, a function setting step for setting a function for expressing a relation between the neutron counting rate and detection efficiency of the first neutron detector by a simulation experiment or Monte Carlo calculation, a conversion step for converting the ratio of the neutron counting rate into the detection efficiency of the first neutron detector based on the function, and a neutron counting rate correcting step for correcting the positional shift of the counting rate of the neutron detector based on the counting rate of the neutron detector provided in the neutron measuring step and the detection efficiency of the neutron detector provided in the conversion step.
