Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out, in succession over the entire length of a long electrode, the removal of burr of a metal foil, which is present on a cut end face of the electrode, and the inspection of presence or absence of a residue of abrasive agent on the cut end face.SOLUTION: When an electrode 12 for a power storage device is manufactured by cutting an electrode base material in which active material layers 12b are formed on both sides of a metal foil 12a, a burr removal and inspection is carried out for a cut end face 13 of a cut electrode 12. A burr removal step and an inspection step are carried out in succession. In the burr removal step, a magnetic abrasive agent P including abrasive grains Pa is disposed between the cut end face 13 of the electrode 12 and abrasive parts 10a, 10b rotated by rotating means (motors 16a, 16b) and capable applying attraction force to magnetic abrasive grains Pa, the electrode 12 is moved relative to the abrasive parts 10a, 10b and the cut end face 13 is abraded to remove burr of the cut end face 13. In the inspection step, whether the magnetic abrasive grains Pa remain on the cut end face 13 subjected to burr removal is inspected by a magnetic sensor 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
