Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butt welding centering method and device with a simple structure which can certainly perform centering even if workpieces have diameter difference.SOLUTION: When butt-welding a first workpiece 12a and a second workpiece 13a, the first workpiece 12a is held by a first parallel chuck 126a which has a pair of claws opposing in a diametrical direction of the first workpiece 12a while sandwiching the first workpiece 12a and capable of moving forward/backward in synchronism with each other in mutual directions, and the second workpiece 13a is held by a second parallel chuck 126b which has a pair of claws opposing in a diametrical direction of the second workpiece 13a while sandwiching the second workpiece 13a and capable of moving forward/backward in synchronism with each other in mutual directions, thereby making the first workpiece 12a and the second workpiece 13a coaxial.
