To provide a butterfly valve in which a simple and sure assembling work is possible with a minimal number of parts, a supporting structure of a valve stem can be rigidly sustained, detaching the valve is possible at the time of its maintenance and recycle, and further a reduction in its production cost is effective.
There is provided the butterfly valve 10 in which a discoid valve body 13 is provided in a freely rotatable manner via a sheet ring 12 mounted inside a short cylindrical body 11. In the butterfly valve 10, a lower stem 14 provided in the valve body 13 is inserted into a bearing opening 15 formed in a body 11. The bearing opening 15 is covered with a holding body 20 including a locking portion 21. Besides, the locking portion 21 is locked to the locking portion 17 bored in the vicinity of the bearing opening 15 to fix the holding body 20 firmly to the bearing opening 15 by using snap engagement.
