Abstract:
To provide a butterfly valve for achieving both the optimization of a flow rate characteristic in opening change and the suppression of a cavitation occurrence by suppressing the cavitation occurrence and growth due to interference of respective air bubbles at a downstream side on an orifice side of a valve body while performing rectification around a contraction flow part during low opening of the valve body and suppressing the progress of a specific whirlpool.SOLUTION: A disc-like valve body 2 is provided rotatably in a cylindrical valve casing 1 through a valve shaft 3. The valve body includes: a plurality of current plates 20, 40 extended in an aligned state in parallel on at least an orifice side of the valve body 2 or along a direction of crossing the orifice side and the direction of the valve shaft 3 from the outer periphery of a nozzle side; and slot-shaped flow channels 21, 42 provided between the plurality of current plates 20, 40, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
