Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butterfly valve capable of preventing the flange part of a seat ring from turning up, eliminating any part with narrow spacing between the flange part and valve stem so as to preclude stress concentration, keeping the sealing force uniformly, and establishing a small-sized construction, large diametric valve stem, and lightweight valve body.
SOLUTION: The butterfly valve is structured so that the whole rear surface excluding a part of the surface of the flange part 12b of seat ring 12 made of rubber is fitted to a fit-in step 11c at the end face 11b of the valve body 11 and the excluded part of the surface of the flange part 12b is protruded from the end face 11b of the body 11 so that a step is formed, wherein the rear surface side edges of the peripheral surface of the flange part 12b are provided with projections 12c protruding in the radial direction in such a way as having a thickness smaller than the depth of the fit-in step 11c, and the projections 12c are fitted in a ring-shaped groove 11d provided at the inside corners of the fit-in step 11c.
