To provide a button device for an elevator capable of repeatedly using a cover for preventing erroneous operation, easily and efficiently performing work for restoring the button device and further enhancing safety in operation.
Engagement grooves 36, 37 are formed on a button frame 30. Projections 40, 41 are formed on the cover 38 for preventing erroneous operation and are engaged with the engagement grooves 36, 37, thereby the cover 38 is retained at an inner side of the button frame 30. Notch parts 39 are formed on respective corner parts of the cover 38 and a clearance (a) is ensured by the notch parts 39. When the cover 38 is pushed-in by a fingertip, the projections 40, 41 are removed from the engagement grooves 36, 37 and the cover 38 is displaced and abutted on a button top. The displaced cover 38 can be reset to the original position by inserting a tool into the clearance (a) and drawing it to this side.
