Abstract:
PURPOSE:To permit the common use of stator or rotor in engines of different cylinder numbers by increasing the number of projections of any one of rotor or stator to the integral doubling of that of the other and by making the dominant number of projections conincide with the number of engines. CONSTITUTION:The generator for 8-cylinder engine is built up by fitting the rotor 7 having the projection 7a every 45 deg. On the outside perimeter, for example, on the shaft 1 rotating synchronously with the engine and also providing the stator 3 having the projection 3a every 90 deg. on the inside perimeter to fit in with the rotor 7. Each time the projection 7a of the rotor 7 faces to face with the projection 3a of the stator 3, the magnetic flux interlinking from magnet 4 to the coil 5 is changed, and each time the rotor 7 rotates by 45 deg., an ignition signal voltage occurs. And, in the case of a 4-cylinder engine, using the rotor having projections every 90 deg., the ignition signal voltage occurs every time the rotor rotates by 90 deg. and thus as stator can be used in common to that for 8-cylinder engines.
