Abstract:
Phenyl-substituted cyclic keto-enol compounds (I) are new. Phenyl-substituted cyclic keto-enol compounds of formula (I) are new. [Image] W, Z' : H, alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; X : alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; Y : H, Me, Et, isopropyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; provided that at least one of W, X, Y and Z' : at least 2C chain; CKE : cyclic keto-enol residue of formula (i)-(v); T : O, S or N(D); A : H; alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl or alkylthioalkyl (all optionally unsaturated and optionally substituted (os) by halo); os cycloalkyl (optionally having at least one ring C replaced by a heteroatom); or aryl, aralkyl or heteroaryl (all os by halo, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, CN or NO 2); B' : H, alkyl or alkoxyalkyl, or C(A)(B') : os, saturated or unsaturated ring, optionally containing at least one heteroatom; D : H; alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxyalkyl or alkylthioalkyl (all os); saturated or unsaturated cycloalkyl (os and optionally having at least one ring C replaced by a heteroatom); or aryl, aralkyl, heteroaralkyl or heteroaryl, or A + D : a group completing a saturated or unsaturated ring (optionally containing at least one heteroatom and os in the A-D part); Q 1, Q 2, Q 4-Q 6H or alkyl, or A + Q 1alkanediyl or alkenediyl (both os by OH or (all os) alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, cycloalkyl, benzyloxy or aryl); Q 3H, alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylthioalkyl, os cycloalkyl (optionally having one CH 2 replaced by O or S) or os phenyl, or C(Q 3)(Q 4) : os, saturated or unsaturated ring, optionally containing at least one heteroatom); G : H, COR 1, -C(L)MR 2, SO 2R 3, -P(L)R 4R 5, E or -C(L)NR 6R 7; E : 1 equivalent of a metal ion or an ammonium ion; L, M : O or S; R 1alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylthioalkyl or polyalkoxyalkyl (all os by halo); cycloalkyl (os by halo, alkyl or alkoxy and optionally interrupted by at least one heteroatom); or phenyl, phenylalkyl, heteroaryl, phenoxyalkyl or heteroaryloxyalkyl (all os); R 2alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl or polyalkoxyalkyl (all os by halo); or cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl (all os); R 3-R 5alkyl, alkoxy, mono- or dialkylamino, alkylthio, alkenylthio or cycloalkylthiol (all os by halo); or phenyl, benzyl, phenoxy or phenylthio (all os); R 6, R 7H; alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy or alkoxyalkyl (all os by halo); or phenyl or benzyl (both os), or NR 6R 7a ring (optionally interrupted by O or S). [Image] - ACTIVITY : Insecticide; acaricide; nematocide; herbicide; antifouling; fungicide; antibacterial. 3-(2,4-Dimethyl-6-ethylphenyl)-5,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2,5-dihyd ropyrrole (Ia) at a concentration of 1000 ppm gave 100% mortality of Plutella xylostella caterpillars on cabbage leaves in 7 days. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
