PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst having excellent catalyst activity and stability, and having carbon deposition resistance, a method for producing the same, and method for producing hydrogen using the same.SOLUTION: A catalyst comprises an Ni group intermetallic compound, and the Ni group intermetallic compound is an alloy of Ni, Fe and M (where, M is at least one Group 2 element in the periodic table, selected from the group consisting of Be, Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
