To reduce a processing load on a management apparatus side when it collects relevant information on a settop box.

A cable modem is configured such that when receiving a request from the management apparatus (s210), the cable modem requests the settop box connected to the cable modem itself to transmit the relevant information on the settop box on behalf of the management apparatus (s220), and transmits the acquired relevant information to the management apparatus (s250). Thus, the management apparatus has only to manage IP address of the cable modem, and without confirming the IP addresses of the settop box, the management apparatus can obtain the relevant information on the settop box connected to the cable modem. Thus, the processing load for confirming the IP address of the settop box is not caused on the management apparatus side, and the processing load can thereby be reduced when the management apparatus side collects the relevant information on the settop box.
