To provide a CCD solid-state imaging apparatus for imaging an image with high image quality.

The CCD solid-state imaging apparatus is provided with: vertical transfer paths for reading received electric charges of photodiodes via gates and transferring the electric charges in a vertical direction; horizontal transfer paths for transferring the received electric charges received from the vertical transfer paths in a horizontal direction; and a transfer control section for stopping the transfer operations of the vertical transfer paths during the transfer through the horizontal transfer paths. The received electric charges contained in shallow and wide potential packets formed under a plurality of consecutive transfer electrodes for configuring the vertical transfer paths and for transferring the received electric charges are collected in narrow deep potential packets formed under the transfer electrodes V2 not connected to the gates among the consecutive transfer electrodes V5 to V2 (time t12) before the transfer operation is stopped and then the transfer operation is stopped.
