Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the collision energy absorbing performance by fully securing the collapse stroke of an inner panel of a cabin skeleton member.
CONSTITUTION: The rigidity of a load sustaining wall 6 is increased more than that of leg-supporting walls 7, 8 by forming an inner panel 2 of a front pillar A of three walls, i.e., the load sustaining wall 6 which is approximately perpendicular to an occupant and the leg-supporting walls 7, 8 which are diagonally folded outwardly on each side of the load sustaining wall, and providing the load sustaining wall 6 of the multiple panel structure where the inner panel 2 is split into a first panel 2A and a second panel 2B in the width direction are overlapped with load sustaining wall parts 6a, 6b.
