Title:
CABLE CHIPPING-OFF TOOL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02174085
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To remarkably increase the use extent of an insulating layer stripping tool, by making the jaws separated and moved to a limit position against the biasing of a spring at one ends thereof, when the jaws located at the swinging cooperating position. CONSTITUTION: Two long jaws 1, 2 which can be hung at a mutual swinging cooperating position, are installed, one of the jaws 1 substantially holds one cutting blade 18 extending in the axial direction in the longitudinal direction, and the other jaw 2 holds a paired supporting means 24 for supporting a cable installed on cable supporting means in association with each other. When the jaws 1, 2 are closed, one ends of the jaws 1, 2 are separated and swung to a limit position against the biasing of the spring. The spring biasing in the pivot motion of the jaws 1, 2, that is, the movement of the jaws around a pivot pin 3, is given by spring means substantially formed by two C-shaped springs 31. Thereby a tool can be used for stripping an insulating layer from the cable of the comparatively large diameter range.
