To provide a cable cutter capable of automatically changing over to a boosting mechanism during a series of cutting operations and executing cutting.
The cable cutter includes a fixed-side blade body 1 and a moving-side blade body 2 which are openably/closably connected via a pivot 3; the fixed-side blade body 1 is connected to a first handle 4, while the moving-side blade body 2 is connected to a second handle 5 via a first shaft 6 and a second shaft 7; the moving-side blade body 2 has an arc-shaped long hole 8, with the pivot 3 as the axis, and a linear long hole 10 extending radially at a distant position from the pivot 3, while the fixed-side blade body 1 has a changeover long hole 9 with a step portion; the first shaft 6 provided projectingly from the second handle 5 is slidably inserted into the arc-shaped long hole 8 and the changeover long hole 9, while the second shaft 7 is slidably inserted into the linear long hole 10; the arc-shaped long hole 8 has a pocket 8a into which the first shaft 6 is fitted at a position where both handles are fully opened and integrates the second handle 5 with the moving-side blade body 2; and in the middle of closing both handles, the first shaft 6 comes out of the pocket at the step portion of the changeover long hole 9, transfers to the arc-shaped long hole 8 and slides in the long hole 8 to operate the boosting mechanism.
