PURPOSE: To obtain the title device commensurable even to a change of height in an elevator shaft with specified cable length by adjusting the height position of a cable hoisting accessory installed in the shaft.

CONSTITUTION: A height position H of a hoisting accessory 5 for a cable 4 installed in an elevator shaft 2 is set in an optimum position in case of a fourth floor, by way of example. The cable length is set to be constant, and when it is applied to both third and second floors as it is, the height position H of the hoisting accessory 5 is left unchanged intact. In brief, a position of the hoisting accessory 5 is made higher to some extent whereby even in case of lower floors, the long cable 4 is usable as it is. Accordingly, when the height position of the hoisting accessory 5 installed in the elevator shaft is adjusted, the specified length cable 4 standardized is usable irrespective of building height, thus installation (4) becomes facilitated.
