To provide a cable grasping device capable of performing switching between a grasped state and a released state by a smooth and stable operation even when a weight of an object conveyed by a carrier is large.
This cable grasping device is provided with a supporting member 32 connected to the carrier, a pair of eccentric rollers 51, 52 supported by the supporting member 32 rotatably around vertical eccentric shafts 40, 40 positioned on both sides of a cable 5 in a conveyance width direction with their peripheral surfaces opposed to each other so that the peripheral surfaces bite into the cable 5 in the grasped state, energizing means 6, 6 energizing the eccentric rollers 51, 52 in a direction approximating the peripheral surfaces to the cable 5 in the grasped state, and operated bodies 47, 47 attached to the eccentric rollers 51, 52, that are operated by an operating body 61 set in a conveyance path so that the eccentric rollers 51, 52 are moved to a direction separated from the cable 5 against the energizing forces of the energizing means 6, 6 to be switched into the released state OP.
