To provide a cable guard to be used for protecting a cable against damage in a wind turbine generator, and to provide a method of installation theoreof.
The wind turbine generator 100 includes a tower 102 extending from a support surface 104 and including a top 116, a bottom 118 and a passageway 120 extending from the bottom to the top, a nacelle 106 rotatably coupled to the top of the tower for rotational movement with respect to the tower, a rotor 108 coupled to the nacelle and including a plurality of rotor blades 112 coupled thereto, at least one cable 142 extending through the passageway and including one end coupled with the nacelle, and the cable guard 150 coupled within the passageway for shielding at east one cable from wear and including at least one of elastomeric pads 152, 162.
