Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of cable installation work involving the raising of a cable that since a diver performs the work for pulling the cable into a cable protection tube, while monitoring the linearity of the cable by diving into the water, the installation work of cable may not be progressed in a situation where the diver cannot dive into the water.SOLUTION: A cable installation method has a step of attaching a cable protection tube 2 longitudinally to a portion of the foundation 1 of an offshore facility, and raising the cable 3 by using the cable protection tube 2. In the cable raising step, a plurality of underwater sound reflectors 4 are attached previously to different positions in the length direction, for the cable 3 laid on the sea bottom. Position of the cable 3 underwater is detected by receiving a sound wave by means of a sonar 12, when the sound wave radiated into the water by the sonar strikes the underwater sound reflector 4 and is reflected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
