Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for searching an outgoing frequency by noticing that the outgoing frequency assigned to each cable modem is determined before the outgoing frequency is installed to a cable modem system, storing the outgoing frequency available by the cable modem in advance, skipping searching in an unnecessary frequency band and searching only a required frequency band.
SOLUTION: An installer of a user or the cable modem 101 uses an SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) manager 115 working on a PC 103 to give an instruction to an SNMP agent 114 via an IP layer 113 and makes a private MIB(Management Information Base) 109 to register the outgoing frequency assigned to the cable modem 101 to a frequency cache 111.
