Abstract:
To provide a channel change method in bi-directional communication system that can set an optimum channel (frequency) used for upstream or downstream communication in the bi-directional communication system.
While a 1st head end system conducts bi-directional communication with a cable modem, the cable modem conducts upstream or downstream means via a 2nd head end system by using other channel, and whether or not this communication is successful is decided; and when the communication is successful, the communication is continued.
