Abstract:
To hold a shift lever device, when transported alone, while preventing the rocking of a joint rod having one end journaled to a key lock lever on the side of a shift lock mechanism.
The shift lever device 23 uses the joint rod 11 and a preset-length key lock cable 25 for linking a key lever 10 on the side of the shift lock mechanism 24 for the shift lever device 23 with a key cylinder on the side of a key interlock mechanism for a steering column device. Herein, a protruded portion 27 which is temporarily held by the joint rod 11 at its free end is provided on the side face of a casing 22 of the shift lever device 23 or on a unit base 4 of a shift lock unit 24.
