PURPOSE: To lessen the space for accommodation and reduce the driving force for taking up a cable by allowing a running block, on which the cable is hooked as initial setting, to make rotary movement in the circumferential direction, and thereby taking up the cable on a cylindrical surface.

CONSTITUTION: In an endless circuitry in which an endless cable 1 travels around a pair of stationary blocks 4A, 4B and a running block 5, this one 5 on which the cable 1 is hooked as initial setting, shall not be moved linearly, but allowed to make rotary movement on a cylindrical surface by a takeup wheel 14 installed rotatably on the machine frame 13. This takes up the surplus portion of cable 1 along the path in the circumferential direction, to enable a long cable to be accommodated in a minor space.
