To obtain a cage rescue device for an elevator, which enables a person in a cage to be rescued by a simple operation from a landing without an entry into a hoistway.
A cage rescue device for an elevator includes: an attachment arm 14a which has a slot 14g provided in a hoistway; a roller 14d which has a shaft 15b loosely inserted into the slot 14g; a rope retainer guide 14c which is provided in the state of facing the roller 14d via a governor rope 16; a spring 14e which moves the roller 14d along the slot 14g by urging it to the side of the rope retainer guide 14c and which makes the governor rope 16 held in such a manner as to be sandwiched between the roller 14d and the rope retainer guide 14c; and a handle 15a which rotates the shaft 15b in the state of making the governor rope 16 held in the sandwiched manner. The handle 15a is rotated to move the cage through the governor rope 16 moving along with the rotation of the roller 14d.
