Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency in execution of work by a method wherein an upper caisson is constructed of a plurality of disintegrable segments, and the segments are disintegrated on occasion of removal of the upper caisson while natural ground between a temporary coffering and the upper caisson is removed.
CONSTITUTION: After a mound 8 is constructed on the inside of a temporary coffering 6, a lower caisson 1a is installed. The caisson 1a is sunk gradually while excavation is made on the inside of the caisson 1a, and segments 3 are installed in layers on the caisson 1a with fastening made with bolts. After the caisson la is filled with infilling concrete, a bridge pier or the like is constructed with a top board constructed on the uppermost end of the segments serving as a foundation. Then, the segments 3 of the upper caisson 1b are disintegrated one after another in the circumferential and the vertical directions with bolts loosened. At the same time, the mound 8 between the temporary coffering 6 and the caisson 1b is excavated and excavated earth is discharged to the outside. After excavation is made up to the surface of the riverbed 2, the temporary coffering 6 is removed. Thereby, the upper caisson can be removed easily without using explosives.
