Abstract:

To provide the subject calcination method capable of producing clinker inexpensively by using fuel of low quality and capable of suppressing the generation of a pollutant at the same time.

In a method for calcining a mineral substance by passing the mineral substance through a preparatory calciner 3 having at least one fuel injector forming a fuel injection zone formed to the outlet thereof and passing the at least partially calcined mineral substance through a rotary kiln 4 having a primary combustion unit 16 provided on the downstream end thereof, at least one oxygen rich fluid having oxygen conc. higher than that of the combustion product from the rotary kiln 4 is injected in the vicinity of the fuel injection zone to be supplied in an amt. becoming 1-40% of a stoichiometric amt. of oxygen necessary for burning the fuel injected by the fuel injector.
