To provide a calcium absorption promoter having high safety and an excellent calcium absorption-promoting effect, and beverages and foods by using the same, although as the active ingredient promoting the absorption of calcium, there are in addition to conventional vitamin D and lactose, e.g. a peptide derived from a bone, butyric acid, a galacto-oligosaccharide, a protein originated from a cod or krill, water-soluble chitosan, a macromolecular fraction of soybean milk, etc.

This calcium absorption promoter comprises an extract of the fruit body of Mycoleptodonoides aitchisonii. The beverages and foods for promoting the calcium absorption are characterized by containing the above calcium absorption promoter.
