Title:
CALCIUM PHOSPHATE-BASED GLASS AND CRYSTALLIZED GLASS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0416525
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make the appearance of an obtained artificial tooth similar to that of the natural tooth by incorporating specified amts. of ≥1 kind of element selected from Dy, Pr, Tb and Eu into the glass.

CONSTITUTION: From 0.001 to 5mol% of ≥1 kind of metal among Dy, Pr, Tb and Eu or their compd. as the luminescence material, 0.001-1.0mo1% of ≥1 kind of metal among Ni, Fe, Rh, Ru and Pd or their compd. as the colorant and 1-15mol% Al2O3, B2O3, Ga2O3, rare-earth element oxides, etc., as the property improver are weighed and added to the calcium phosphate-based glass as the raw material, and water is added to obtain its slurry. The slurry is dried to obtain a raw powder, the powder is calcined at 200-900°C for 1-10hr, the calcined powder is placed in a platinum crucible, heated at 900-1500°C for 5min to 10hr to obtain the homogeneous melt, and the melt is cooled to obtain a calcium phosphate-based glass. The glass is heated at 500-900°C for 5min to 100hr, and a calcium phosphate-based crystallized glass having a color tone similar to that of the natural tooth is obtained.
