To provide a calcium phosphate bone prosthetic material, having excellent initial adhesion performance to cells, a sufficient mechanical strength, and having a porous structure excellent in affinity to bone and bone inducing performance.
The prosthetic material comprises a skeleton of porous spherical grains of -tricalcium phosphate, to which needle-like grains of -tricalcium phosphate get in contact with at least part of a porous body. The porous body has such a porous structure that spherical pores are communicating with each other along the whole body, achieving a porosity of 65% or more and 85% or less, average pore diameter of 150 m or more and 300 m or less, and average pore diameter at a communication part between the pores being 30 m or more and 100 m or less.
