Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable to measure a degree of vacuum correctly by making a jet of vapor by raising the temperature of mercury or oil with the normal temperature and low vapor pressure and discharging gas from the high vacuum side to the low vacuum side by this operation.
CONSTITUTION: In measuring the degree of vacuum by a Macleod gage, the pressure P is calculated by a calculating formula of P=h×v/VTorr (h: height of mercury column, v: volume of C, V: volume of A). Then, V of the volume of A is set prescribedly beforehand and the minimum point of curvature of the graph is calculated and the value of the least P is calculated from the least values of v and h to obtain 10-6mm Hg.
